Your new company Our client is a well-established and highly successful food manufacturing business operating within the FMCG sector. Supplying products to both domestic and international markets, the organisation is recognised for its commitment to quality, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. Due to ongoing growth, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Production Manager to join the leadership team. Your new role As Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all production operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of production targets while maintaining the highest standards of quality and food safety. You will provide strong leadership to production teams, driving performance, continuous improvement initiatives, and operational excellence across the facility. Key Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day production operation to achieve agreed output, quality, and efficiency targets. Lead, motivate, and develop production teams, ensuring high levels of engagement and performance. Ensure compliance with all food safety, quality, customer, and regulatory requirements. Monitor and drive performance against key operational KPIs including productivity, yields, waste, labour utilisation, and downtime. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to optimise production processes. Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are adhered to, promoting a strong safety culture throughout the site. Manage workforce planning, training, and employee development activities. Investigate operational issues and implement corrective and preventative actions. Produce regular management reports and provide updates on operational performance What you'll need to succeed Proven experience in a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Operations Manager, or similar leadership role. Background within food manufacturing, meat processing, FMCG, or a highly regulated production environment. Strong leadership and people management skills with experience leading large teams. Excellent knowledge of food safety, quality standards, and production best practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Experience managing operational KPIs and delivering continuous improvement projects. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement methodologies would be advantageous. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and production management systems. Qualifications Third-level qualification in Food Science, Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline desirable. Lean, Health & Safety, or Continuous Improvement qualifications would be advantageous.
