Role Purpose The Head office Facilities Manager is responsible for the effective day-to-day operation, planning and continuous improvement of the Dunnes Stores office environment. This is a broad management role covering workplace and facilities, vendor and service management, office experience, accessibility, internal events, people leadership, budget ownership and business planning. The role requires someone who can balance hands-on operational delivery with forward planning, cost management and leadership. The successful candidate will ensure the workplace functions effectively today while also anticipating future needs and planning improvements. Key Responsibilities Workplace & Facilities Manage the day-to-day operation and upkeep of the office environment. Coordinate office layouts, moves and changes to workspace configuration. Manage workplace furniture and equipment requirements, including desks, chairs and related office equipment. Ensure the workplace remains safe, functional, professional and fit for purpose. Coordinate accessibility requirements and ensure appropriate workplace supports are in place. Identify facilities issues early and ensure they are resolved effectively. Plan and coordinate workplace improvement, refurbishment and maintenance activity. Office Experience & Accessibility Oversee front desk operations, ensuring reception, visitor management, meeting room coordination and day-to-day conference centre support are delivered to a high standard. Work closely with reception, security and other service providers to ensure a professional experience for employees and visitors. Identify practical improvements to the workplace environment and employee experience. Coordinate workplace requirements for new starters, visitors and specific employee needs where appropriate. Support accessibility across the workplace and ensure practical issues are addressed. Maintain a visible, approachable presence and respond quickly to issues as they arise. People Management & Coordination Lead and coordinate colleagues and service teams supporting workplace operations. Provide clear direction, priorities and day-to-day support to ensure consistent service delivery. Coordinate internal teams, contractors and external suppliers across workplace activity. Build effective working relationships across the organisation and ensure responsibilities are clear. Manage performance, workload and development for direct reports where applicable. Ensure adequate cover and continuity across critical workplace services. Business Planning, Budget & Vendor Management Own and manage the workplace operations budget, ensuring expenditure is controlled, aligned with business priorities and supported by clear visibility of costs and variances. Develop annual and longer-term plans for workplace requirements, maintenance, equipment, services and future investment needs. Manage relationships with key workplace service providers and vendors, including cleaning, window cleaning, security, reception and other facilities-related suppliers. Set clear expectations, monitor supplier performance against agreed service standards and challenge cost, service levels and value for money where appropriate. Manage quotations, supplier selection, works coordination and business cases for workplace investment, upgrades or changes where required. Anticipate future workplace needs and support wider business planning by providing clear input on workplace capacity, services, cost and operational requirements. Events & Internal Engagement Coordinate internal and external events hosted by Dunnes Stores. Coordinate larger or higher-profile events such as brand ambassador activity, launches and external events hosted on site. Manage event logistics including venue preparation, suppliers, catering, equipment and stakeholder coordination. Ensure events are delivered professionally and reflect the Dunnes Stores brand and culture. About You You will be a practical, highly organised operational leader who enjoys variety and takes ownership. You will be comfortable moving between immediate operational issues and longer-term planning, whether that is resolving a facilities problem, managing a supplier, coordinating an office change, reviewing budgets or planning for future workplace requirements. You will bring: Previous experience in a large workplace operation, facilities management, corporate services or a similar operational environment. Experience managing budgets and controlling operational expenditure. Strong people leadership and coordination experience. Proven vendor and supplier management capability. Strong organisation and prioritisation skills. Excellent attention to detail. A practical, solutions-focused approach. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. The ability to remain calm and effective when priorities change. Experience coordinating events or employee engagement activity would be highly beneficial. Good judgement and the ability to work independently. A strong service mindset and commitment to maintaining a high-quality workplace environment.
